The Lovely Dry Drinker sent us a box of different alcohol-free drinks to try. Personally, I don’t know a lot about different alcohol-free drinks, when I started out, it was lime and soda all the way, or water. But now it’s a very different story and Dry drinker seems to have great selection and something for everyone.
Now I know the 0.5% drinks cause a bit of controversy, but here is the thing, there can be 0.5% alcohol in orange juice, in a banana, its in Kombucha. But its horses for courses, your body, your choice, if it doesn’t work for you, then don’t do it. However, my experience is finding a good alcohol-free drink can really work for some people.
This is what the amazing Women Who Don’t Drink said about some of the drinks that dry drinker sent us, we are a tough audience by the way.
Vintense Chardonnay – a shitty attempt at a fake wine, (sorry), lets face it sometimes it just doesn’t work and alcohol-free wines are tricky.
Stowford Press – this came out as the favourite, tastes like apples, not too sweet, very good and tastes like cider, great work Stowford press.
G & T teetotal, by the Temperance Spirit Company – tastes like a G & T (nearly), its quite good and the ladies liked this one.
Duchess G & T – love the bottle and the label, tastes more like tonic water and you can taste the sweetener in it, personally I am not a fan of sweeteners, but I know it won’t be an issue for some. However the ladies reckon that if someone had, had a few and they had one of these they wouldnt know the difference. Not bad Duchess.
Cuba Libre, Temperance Spirit Co – this one also came out as one of the favs, tastes like rum and coke apparently, I wouldn’t know, wasn’t my drink. Tastes like coke to me, but the ladies tell me it tastes and smells like a rum and coke, so again great work.
Vintense Rose – I have to say this is one my favs and came out as one of the top ones for the ladies. Very good. Bit tangy, not too sweet, tastes just like a rose. Excellent work.
Krombocher- tastes like a German wheat beer, I have no idea if that’s a good thing. The ladies said it was ok.
